Cute little park. Nice area. Clean beach. Park rangers patrol regularly and are nice.
Went to the S.C.R.A.P. antique power show labor day weekend. Had a great time.
I scuba dive at the park. Great quarry for diving.
So, I am a bit conflicted on how to rate this. On one hand the beach is very nice, the playground is awesome and the staff is super friendly and nice. On the other hand, for scuba diving, the location is not so great. When the water is warm, visibility is poor (last time we went, vis was about 3') when the water is clear it is also very cold.
Basically, for a lake beach and playground, I would easily rate it a 5. The scuba concession is a 5. But the diving is a 3...
That said, there are a lot of things to explore and this is a pretty good place for novice divers. Every time we've been there, there have been lots of other divers (who have all been very friendly) but it has never been super crowded.
The dive fee is $20, fills are $8, $12 for Nitrox.
A must vist beach . Most pristine water in ohio. Has a camp site , beach, play ground , and scuba diving . A hiddin, gem of ohio.
All of the nearby hotels that you would want to stay at are pretty expensive. You can camp onsite but there are no showers. Personally I really want to shower after diving in murky green water but I'm weird that way.
